Benita Bensch


Benita Bensch
(nee Davis) is the founder and Principal of Sunburnt Country Consulting.

Benita knows that to communicate effectively with, and within, rural and regional Australia you need to speak the right language. Her unique combination of skills and experiences means Benita can translate a simple brief into a form of communication that a rural audience will relate to and engage with.

Benita works collaboratively with an Australia-wide network of high calibre marketing and communication specialists to deliver outstanding results for Sunburnt Country Consulting's clients. Connecting with this pool of knowledge, creativity and expertise means Benita can mobilise the right people and resources for any job, every time.

Benita's upbringing in rural Queensland instilled in her a love for agriculture and country living. Achieving her goal of establishing a successful career in rural Australia began with a Bachelor of Rural Science (First Class Honours) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Marketing and Management) from the University of New England. 

Her professional experience encompasses research, agricultural consultancy, business management, extension, public relations, marketing, communications, project management and events. Complementing this is Benita's hands-on involvement with agriculture, including she and her husband's farming operation in the Riverina district of New South Wales.

Benita has a history of leadership in the youth in agriculture movement. She won the 2007 Queensland Rural Ambassador award which led to an involvement with the national Rural Ambassador/Achiever group and more recently a directorship with the Future Farmers Network. 

Benita draws inspiration from the people who make up the fabric of the bush and she is passionate about creating effective marketing and communication solutions that really connect with the people of rural and regional Australia.
